This blog has been really fun to make and to post on. Everyone loves food, and at times don't know what culture it originated from. People always gather together to eat, at parties, celebrations, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, everyday! People are always happier together when there is food involved, and it's good to know where food comes from, you can learn about the culture of it and where and why people eat it. Every country and every race eat different food than the other, and it will always be a good thing to be open-minded and try food you've never had before. It is also fun to know how to cook foods that you don't eat on the daily. Food is essential and necessary, and at times beautiful because of the way it brings people and cultures together. Thank you to those for viewing my blog and staying updated with me!

Food from other countries have been introduced and incorporated into Indian meals..for example potatoes, chili and breadfruit, were brought to and introduced by the Portuguese. Spices were brought from India and traded with Europe and Asia, Indian cuisine and culture has been the influence among many countries, especially those of the Middle-East, North Africa South-East Asia, Fiji, etc!
India's most commonly eaten foods are pearl millet, rice, whole-wheat flour a variety of lentils (seeds) pigeon peas, and mung beans. In India they eat very healthy! They don't eat very much greasy foods or fat. They consume chicken, fish, and a lot of vegetables. Hawaiian Culture

Hawaiian cuisine has five distinct styles of food that reflect it's history of the Hawaiian Islands. Native Hawaiian people settled in the area, they fished, raised taro for poi, planted coconuts, sugarcane, sweet potatoes and yams, and cooked meat and fish in earth ovens. As pineapple and sugarcane plantations grew, so did the demand for labor, bringing many immigrant groups to the Islands between 1850 and 1930. Few edible plants existed (aside from ferns) and fruits grew at higher elevations. Taro is and was one of the most important used plants, and the poi made from it was the staple food of Hawaii.

Chinese Food-Culture

Chinese food is seen as one of the most diverse culinary heritage sin the world! It originated in different parts of China and has spread world-wide. Their staple foods are typically rice, noodles, or mantou (steamed buns). They also eat fish veggies, meat, etc. Rice is a critical part of their diet, and in many parts of China like North China they eat wheat based products, compared to Southern China where rice is dominant. Chopsticks are the main utensil used for eating, traditionally they thought using knives and forks at the table were "barbaric." Vegetarianism isn't uncommon or unusual in China, though it is in the West. They don't eat much meat/tofu, most Chinese vegetarians are Buddhists. Desserts are less typical in their culture, than in Western cuisine, because during the courses of the meals they eat sweet foods which is basically their dessert. And if they do want dessert they serve it after their main meal and it's usually fruit. In their culture they believe that cold beverages can be harmful to the process of their digestion, so items like soft drinks and cold water aren't served during their meals. They mostly drink hot tea and hot water, because hot drinks help with digestion unlike the alternative of cold drinks.

The diet of working-class Mexicans includes staples such as corn or wheat tortillas, along with beans, rice, tomatoes, chili peppers and chorizo (a type of pork sausage.) Empanadas, which are handheld pasty pockets, can contain savory or sweet fillings. Many Mexicans love spicy foods full of heat!! The diets of middle- and upper-income Mexicans are more closely aligned with diets of Americans and Europeans and include a wide variety of food items prepared in wide range of culinary ways. Food brings people together like at family gatherings, friends, parties etc!

Welcome!!

In this blog you will read about the different kinds of food around the world, and about the culture of that particular food. Food is a necessity of life and is more important in some places of the world, than others. Some people take food for granted, and some people have to scavenge from day to day just to survive. People travel for two main reasons..to see the world, and to eat food they've never had before! In my blog I will talk about how people make/prepare their food, what it means to them, why they eat the food that they do, and a variety of other things!
